When someone clicks on a link to a page that doesn't exist, this script logs the URL of the page that they came from and sends them to a page that you specify. You can then view the log, and fix any dead links.

This scripts is a good script when you have many links and don't want to check them every week. The scripts records every url that's dead. But you must make a link this way: http://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/404.cgi?http://www.alink.com/ .The scripts will check anything what's behind the " ? ". In this case it will check http://www.alink.com/

The Guardian is a CGI script which works closely with the Apache 1.1 and later webservers. When a visitor to your site attempts to view a document which does not exist, tries to access a restricted area and fails, or initiates a script error, the Apache Guardian awakes. He will provide the wayward visitor with helpful tips to get him back on track and, more importantly, will fire off a priority email to the site administrator alerting him of the error.

Now you can replace those boring server errors such as NOTFOUND with any message you wish. The script also comes with a set of funny graphics to make your readers cherish the fact that something went wrong! Birdtrap allows you to either log or e-mail you, or both (by error code) when an error occurs. Simple installation and configuration. Can only be used on a server running Apache.
Error Robot works in conjuction with .htaccess and Apache servers, to create custom error pages. It takes this a step further by sending the webmaster an email, containing the attempted URL, browser used, and referring site, if available.
How annoyed do you get when you see the 'HTTP 404 Error - File Not Found' error message when you're browsing someones' site? What do you do? Return to the page you've just come from (if your browser allows)? Start again? Go somewhere else? And what's the problem? Just a duff link? Product no longer available? An old, inactive site? Who knows?
Well if you use ErrorFriendly on your OWN site, your visitors WILL know! And they'll know what the problem is, be able to contact you directly, AND be re-directed to exactly where YOU want them to go. The ultimate in good customer service!
And what's more, you'll be notified of the error, details of the visitor, AND the page the error originated from when available.
The visitor re-direction error pages come complete with a funky animated graphic and can be customized to suit your requirements. Sweet!
Works with .htaccess (and don't be afraid if you've not used this before!) and covers the majority of current error codes.
