In our fast paced lifestyles, the Internet has provided a way to satisfy our need for immediate gratification. It has also provided merchants with a double-edged sword. While on one hand we are given a world-wide market we also loose the opportunity for face-to-face contact and a signature on the sales draft. Are charge-backs considered the "cost of doing business" or a threat to the new found independence of entrepreneurs on the Internet?
The two principal forms or protecting electronic products are copyrights and patents. Each offers a different type of protection and each have different requirements for obtaining and enforcing rights.
Electronic interactive media: It's a fancy name that we like to use in the fields of Marketing and Advertising to describe and distinguish what you're doing right now as opposed to what you're doing when you watch television, read a magazine, or have a conversation with a friend or salesperson. The Internet is different somehow -- we realize this -- but we're not exactly sure how it's different, or even why we care.
